Gang,

Please remember to pray for the Barb’s this week.  They are home now.  They are sure to be anxious about being new parents.  They are sure to be nervous about every sound that Cooper makes.  You all remember the grunts, gasps, gurgles….and diaper EXPLOSIONS.  So please remember to pray for them this week.  It is different when it is “new”.  Also, meals start for them on Wednesday.  We still need someone for Friday.

Ministry Opportunity

Gang—below is the info from Becca about the couple in Puxico that lost their home in the storms last week.  Saw their story on the news last night.  They were also injured.  Looked like they lost everything.  Great opportunity to help.

Here is the info for the family in Puxico.  If anyone has items or money they would like to donate they can just get them to us and we will take care of getting them to the family.  As for now, they are going to hold off on big items (furniture) due to their injuries and not having a place to put things right now.

Rusty and Stacey Tanner lost their home in Puxico this week during terrible storms. All of their belongings have been destroyed. Here are some things that they are needing: Men size: 32×32 jeans, Large shirts, size 9 shoes Women size: pants 9/10, Medium shirts, size 8 1/2 shoes The kids (Macey, Mayson, and Skylar): … Youth girls size 8/10 pants, medium shirts, shoes 2 1/2 – 3 Toddler boys size 2T pant and shirts, shoes 6 – 6 1/2
Infant girls size 6 – 9 month They also will be needing diapers (size 2 and 4), wipes, toilet paper, laundry detergent, bandaids, guaze, antibiotic ointments, tylenol, shampoos, toy, etc. Gift cards are also a plus. This way they can purchase what they want or use to buy gas!!

Thanks for helping spread the word!

Ministry Opportunity

Gang—

The Celebrate Recovery Leadership Team is looking for Adult LifeGroup Classes to provide desserts each Tuesday night.

Celebrate Recovery meets each Tuesday @ 5pm where a meal is served.  They then have large group/worship @ 6pm, and follow that up with small group at 7pm.  After small group time, they are invited to share a dessert as they discuss their struggles and talk about Christ.

Hopefully enough life group classes will participate so that we could do this once every 3-4 months.  Is there anyone willing to be in charge of this when our Tuesday rolls around?  It would mean that you would have to coordinate about 5 people bringing dessert to LBC on a Tuesday for CR.

Anyone?  Anyone?  Leave a post if you want to be the leader!

Pray for the Underwoods

Posted: January 5, 2012 in Community, Families, Ministry, news

Gang,

Please pray for the Underwoods for the next several days.  They are leaving tomorrow to fly to DC, and on Friday they will leave for Ethiopia.

Please pray for strength/endurance as their flight is 13 hours.  Pray also that all the paperwork is ready when they go to court (Monday night while we are getting some shut-eye).  If all the paperwork is there, they should pass the process and this precious girl will legally be the Underwood’s daughter.

Also, please pray for them as they meet for the first time, and for a potential meeting with the birth mom.  In addition, if you would please pray for their children as they will be gone for one week—pray especially for Bailey as she is having a difficult time with them being gone for so long.

It is a privilege to get to do life together, and to be able to pray for one another….so let’s pray for the Underwoods!

Feed My Starving Children

Posted: December 9, 2011 in Community, Ministry

Reminder for those of you who got in on the Feed My Starving Children event on Saturday.  We are signed up to work from 11:30 to 1:3o.  Is that right Wit”foot”?

Will meet you there.  It is at the Shawnee Park Center in Cape.

Great way to serve and have some fun as a class!

If you pour yourself out for the hungry and satisfy the desire of the afflicted, then shall your light rise in the darkness and your gloom be as the noonday.  And the Lord will guide you continually and satisfy your desire in scorched places and make your bones strong; and you shall be like a watered garden, like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.—–Isaiah 58:10-11

See you there!

Feed My Starving Children

Gang,

Drew Witvoet is coordinating the sign-ups for Feed My Starving Children through Cape La Croix Church.  Our class is working on 12/10 from 11:30 to 1:30.  Remember, children over 5 can go with an adult (one child per adult), and the children will be working!

Sounds like a great opportunity to get together and work for a great cause.  PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE post a comment here stating who is working (adult and child).

Drew has to register each person—-there are 28 spots, really only 24 b/c Emily, Drew, Brooke, and Jackson are working.  No—only 22 b/c Andrew and I are working.  So FIRST COME FIRST SERVE!  Need 22 peeps.  Post now!
